White paper on National Internet of Things Name Service Platform released by CNCG

Guangzhou Computer Network Information Center (CNCG) released the white paper on National Internet of Things Name Service Platform during an IoT Symposium on June 12, 2019.
Originated from the Internet of things research and industrialization project approved by National Development and Reform Commission, the completed National Internet of Things Name Service Platform (NIOT) passed the final evaluation in March 2017. The root platform of NIOT covers the three sub-systems for name registration, name inquiry and name search, creating name service platforms for specific industries and developing advanced name service applications in various areas such as smart city, data sharing, smart agriculture and Industrial Internet. Since its establishment, the platform has been operating smoothly and providing fundamental Internet of things name services. The number of total registered names and services have reached 79.2 billion and 8.8 billion respectively. The white paper introduces the strategies and progress of NIOT, and makes recommendations on the development of IoT name service from various aspects such as technology development, industry integration, test verification and use of applications.
Jointly established by Computer Network Information Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou Municipal Government and Nansha District Government, Guangzhou Computer Network Information Center (CNCG) is a public institution responsible for the construction, operation and management of NIOT.
