Research on key technologies of advanced networks such as cloud-network convergence new network architecture, 5G/B5G mobile networks, and Internet of Things; carry out research and development and testing of advanced information technology test bed systems, and build an open network test environment; research and development of network innovation applications and systems to provide support for the construction and services of China Science and Technology Cloud, major scientific and technological infrastructures, and field stations, and to promote the transformation and application of the results.

1)Cloud-network convergence and packet computing.
Research on new research information infrastructure architecture of cloud-network convergence, construction of programmable packet computing basic theories and models, breakthroughs in core algorithms of high-throughput and high-efficiency packet processing and key technologies of collaborative acceleration of heterogeneous chips, and development of core equipment such as high-throughput cloud routers, distributed 5G core networks, programmable cloud gateways, and so on.
2)Internet resource monitoring and governance.
Research on monitoring and analysis of IP, routing, domain names and other basic Internet resources, breakthroughs in the core mechanism of inter-domain routing anomaly detection and traceability analysis as well as high-performance scalable resource public key infrastructure (RPKI) key technologies, and development of system platforms such as monitoring platform for basic Internet resources, secure and scalable routing framework and core RPKI software.
3) Large-scale cloud network system simulation and test.
Research on large-scale cloud network system simulation technology, build a containerized simulation platform combining reality and reality, and support multi-scenario testing and verification of new architecture, new protocols and new methods.
