CNIC Releasing Open Source Software: Duckling

 On March 17, Computer Network Information Center (CNIC) of CAS released her first open source software, Duckling 2.0, under the Apache License Version 2.0. The Duckling source code is available as a free download on SourceForge website, the world’s largest provider of hosting for Open Source software development projects, at http://duckling.sourceforge.net.
Supporting e-Science, Duckling (http://duckling.escience.cn) is a comprehensive resource sharing and collaboration platform specific for research group. The former versions of Duckling software, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2, were respectively released in November of 2008, May and September of 2009 and have been deployed and run successfully in a number of research institutions, mostly from CAS. The open source version, Duckling 2.0, consists of Duckling Application Integration Framework (DAIF), which supports portlet integration, Document Collaboration Tool (DCT), User Management Tool (UMT), Collaboratory Library (CLB), and Duckling Log (DLOG).
