On June 10, 2008, 16th Plenary Meeting of Chinese National Committee of CODATA (committee of international science and technology data) was held in Beijing. The major tasks of the meeting is the changeover of the Chinese National Committee of CODATA and discussion on the work plan of the Chinese National Committee of CODATA . The members on the committee, the members of the new term and 33 representatives from relevant departments attended the meeting. CAS Vice President Li Jiayang and CAS Vice President Ding Zhongli attended the meeting.

 First, Prof. Guo Huadong, executive member on the international CODATA Committee, Prof. Yan Baoping, Vice President of CODATA Chinese Committee gave briefings of CODATA and Chinese Committee of CODATA and their recent work focuses respectively.

In accordance with the constitution of Chinese Committee of CODATA, a list of newly appointed members on the new Chinese Committee of CODATA has been discussed and passed at the meeting. CAS Vice President Ding Zhongli is the Chairman of Chinese Committee of CODATA, Prof. Guo Huadong is the representative of China, CNIC Director Huang Xiangyang holds the post of Vice Chairman of CODATA Chinese Committee and Prof. Li Jianhui is the Secretary General of CODATA Chinese Committee.

Since its establishment, over the development of two decades, with the support of every term of CODATA Chinese Committee officials and members, and under the coordination of International Organization Dept. of CAS, and with all the cooperation and hard work of all the data work groups, the CODATA Chinese Committee has made important contributions in terms of accumulating, storage, processing and promoting data sharing, providing good data services for our S&T personnel, understanding and tracking the international scientific data management and technology levels, participating international exchange and technical collaboration of scientific data.
