Sino-America Joint Center of Computational Science (SAJCCS) is founded by the Chinese Academy of Sciences Computer Network Information Center (CNIC), New York, United States Joint Scientific Computing Center (NYCCS) and Beijing Terry Century Technology Co. Ltd (Terry century), the inaugural celebration was hold on May31, 2007.

　　The center is planning to set up a platform for providing advice and services, research and development HPC technology, to provide opportunities for exchange visits between China and American , so as to make close combination among research study and production, and improve the ability of high-performance computing in China.

　　With the development of science and technology, HPC is playing an key role in the national economy, national defense, scientific research, and become the third more important method in Science after theory and experimentation. The ability of High-performance computing is an significant symbol of national strength and competitiveness.

　　Joint Center's mission

　　Provide an platform for exchanging scientific ideal, technology research and development, personnel training, which is face to the application of scientific achievement and key industries.

　　The three units which compose the joint center will develop the technical research, provide advice and services, strengthen international cooperation, training high-level talents, together improve the development of scientific research.

　　Main work of the joint center

　　1. Providing advice and services: make good use of experience of tri-sides on high-performance computing, we will provide advice and services on hardware and software.

　　2. Personnel training: we will establish a platform for the researchers from American and China to communicate on HPC to make in common and improve the application of HPC, recommend outstanding people to abroad for further study, so as to improve ours ability on HPC.

　　3. Assume project: we will make further research on HPC, and apply to assume nation, bureau and region project.

　　4. Achievements application: we will take joint center as a bridge, make the advance achievement of both nation and abroad to reach to each other and take good use of them.
