International Cooperation of CNIC

CNIC, as pioneer, promoter and participator for informatization of domestic scientific research and scientific research management, has always attached great importance to the academic exchange and cooperation with international science and technology communities. At present, CNIC has established formal and deep contacts with several major international organizations such as APNIC, ICANN, APAN, EU, etc. A bunch of important international conferences and workshops were hosted by CNIC, including 2007 APAN conference, Sino-America Advanced Network Technology Symposium and GRIDs@Work2007 Joint Symposium. CNIC has established close relations with related institions in U.S., U.C., Japan, South Korea and etc.
  
In 2009, CNIC further enhanced its management on visit for foreign affairs and foreign visit and strived to develop a new international cooperation and exchange channel and played the leading role of international cooperation and exchange in scientific and technological work. 
  
In 2009, there were 155 out-going visitors and 28 in-coming visitors. CNIC held 5 international conferences, carried out 3 cooperation and research projects, assigned 2 new cooperation agreements and there were 7 scientific workers who carried on duties in 9 international organizations. The five international conferences held by CNIC included: 28th APNIC Opening Policy Conference, Conference for Members of Asia-pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD), DNS-OARC Fall Work Conference, Sino-US Round-table Conference for Scientific and Technological Data Exchange, 2009 American-Chinese Cyberinfrastructure and E-Science Symposium| High-performance Computing (ACCESS09’ | HPC ) and Chinese American Networking Symposium (CANS2009’) . 
  

CNIC has taken full advantages of international brain trust in the industry, which put up with proposal for the development of CNIC. On December 2, 2009, CNIC took the occasion to invite nine overseas experts including Mr. José Muñoz, Director of OCI Office for US National Natural Science Foundation (NSF) and Mrs. Jacqueline from Washington University, who attended conference in Beijing, to make peer review on CNIC.
